Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa™ is a method of vinyāsa yoga developed by Dario Calvaruso to help practitioners create their own personalised self-practice based on their current level. The name refers to 9 (nava) units of movement (karaṇa) harmoniously put together (vinyāsa) to create a sequence (krama).

Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa’s vision (by Dario Calvaruso)
The objective of this Blog is to elucidate Navakaraṇa’s Vinyāsa’s method and practice but also creating a community and support each other in our personal evolution.
Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa is not a philosophy. It is a method of vinyāsa which can be incorporated in the aspirant’s philosophy and lifestyle. Personally, I have been very inspired by the study of Patañjali Yoga Sūtra, Trika (Tantra) and other philosophical systems (some which are evidently contrasting in their vision and in part also in their practice). The study of different darśana-s have enriched my vision and my life on many aspects. Indeed, I do not follow any particular system I have studied. I have my own vision on “existence”, Self and the purpose and goal of the Yoga practice. I am firmly convinced that everyone has his/her own way to self-realisation and spiritual emancipation. Following any other path would only deviate them from reaching their goals. As a teacher of Yoga and Philosophy, I have never imposed my view or any other philosophical view on students and have never tried to alter students from their paths. For instance, I do teach Sāṃkhya, Yoga Darśana and other darśana-s but without proselytism. The purpose of the study of darśana-s during Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa’s Teacher Trainings, workshops and lectures is to enrich students’ exploration of the noble souls.
